SACRIFICE
BUNT
When you are
making a sacrifice bunt there are some absolutes that must be done:
1. Be sure that after
you pivot that you spread out your stance wide (Wider than normal) so that you
can get to the low strike.
2. Be 'up and in'
in the batters box.
3. Elbows must be
down.
4. Bunt only at strikes
- start the bat head at the top of the strike zone:
- On a pitch below the
bat head drop to your knee (back leg).
- When you are on your
knee, if the pitch is below the bat head drop your chest to your front knee
- if the pitch is below the bat head pull the bat back because the ball is
below the knee - too low, out of the strike zone.
5. Hands must work as
one unit - if the top hand moves down the bottom hand must move down at the same
time and the same distance down.
